Dan Rieken is a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer at American Systems and supports the Cybersecurity & Interoperability Technical Director, Under Secretary of Defense for Research & Engineering, Developmental Test, Evaluation and Assessments. Once a Naval reservist, Dan graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Aerospace Engineering & Mechanics and retired from the Navy as an Information Professional officer and member of the Space Cadre. Dan was an Associate Fellow on the CNO Strategic Studies Group and earned a Master’s degree from the Naval Postgraduate School and a National Security Studies Certificate from the Naval War College. Dan’s engineering and leadership positions with the Navy and Department of Defense include Secretary of the Navy staff and White House Communication Agency Presidential Communication Officer. Dan develops cyber test and evaluation policy and guidance, assessing cyber engineering, planning and execution efforts for acquisition programs.
