Mike Johnson holds the Honeywell James J. Renier chair in security technologies and is a senior fellow at the Technological Leadership Institute at the University of Minnesota. He is responsible for developing security curriculum for the security technologies master’s degree program, driving critical infrastructure protection and security industry issues discussions and training future security leaders.
Prior, he was teaching at the university while also serving as SVP and CISO for Bremer Bank. At the bank, Johnson was responsible for developing data and physical security programs and lead the security governance and operations risk management organization for 15 years. In addition to security governance, Johnson’s responsibilities included business continuity, third-party risk, enterprise fraud governance and the operations risk management program. Prior, Johnson was IT director and compliance officer for Dean Financial Services and was also an FDIC bank examiner.
Johnson also volunteers his time supporting Fairview Health Services, sitting on the board of directors’ IT committee. He earned his master of science in security technologies from the University of Minnesota and holds a CISM from ISACA.
