Managing Director, Defense, National Security and Justice practice at Deloitte
Patrick O’Brien is a Managing Director with the Defense, National Security and Justice practice at Deloitte. In this role, he focuses on providing the full range of investigative, forensic and analytic capabilities to national security and law enforcement agencies with a particular emphasis on financial crimes, sanctions and economic issues. Prior to joining Deloitte, he was a Principal at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he focused on counterterrorism and enforcement issues. He has over 15 years of federal government experience and is a leading expert on terrorist financing and financial crimes. In his government career, Patrick served as Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes at the U.S. Treasury, where he led policy development and engagement related to anti-money laundering, financial crimes and sanctions. He has also served in various high profile positions at the US Department of Justice (DOJ), including as the Senior Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General, and Counsel to FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III, and Principal Deputy for legislative Affairs. Patrick earned his J.D. (cum laude) from the University of Minnesota Law School and his B.A. (magna cum laude) in Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
