Peter Kapelanski is the Senior Manager for Vulnerability Vigilance in the Medtronic Product Security Office, leading a team that conducts penetration testing and cyber threat intelligence to protect Medtronic products. He previously worked as a principal security engineer. He is also a Major in the Minnesota Army National Guard, serving as the Deputy Officer in Charge of the Defensive Cyberspace Operations Element. His previous position was Commander of the 177th Cyber Protection Team. He has deployed twice, in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Spartan Shield. He earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley. He also completed the MBA program at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. His professional certifications include CISSP, CISM, OSCP, CEH, and PMP. He is the Vice President of the Minnesota Chapter of the Military Cyber Professionals Association.
