Ron Fresquez began his Professional/Technical career with US West and has since held positions as Vice President of Sales for Young America Direct – the sixth largest Call Center in the US located in Minneapolis MN, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Database Network Services Inc. in Minneapolis MN a voice, fax, video and data communications service bureau.
As an executive on loan from Database Network Services Inc., Mr. Fresquez was contracted by a consortium of Independent Telco’s in North Carolina, as Vice President and General Manager, Ron was responsible for deploying the largest all media service bureau in the southeast telecommunications market.
Prior to forming The Open Source Technology Alliance Ron played a major role in three successful startups. He was co founder and Director of Sales for Roseville based Integral Business and Defense Solutions; an. Open Source Software Development, Systems Integration and Information Security consulting firm servicing the Department of Defense, (DoD) Aerospace, Telecommunications and Financial markets.
Currently, Ron is the CEO/Founder of The Open Source Technology Alliance (TOSTA) and TOSTA Information Security Training Services. TOSTA was founded in 2005 and is a collaborative exchange for Private and Public Sector organizations and Educational Institutions interested in furthering their knowledge and understanding of Open Source Software and Information Security.
Ron is a member of the Board of Directors and Chairs the Education Committee of UMSA, the Upper Midwest Security Alliance, he is also Chair of the local chapter of the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc. , a member of the Cyber Security Summit Board of Advisors, a member of the Board of Advisors for St. Paul College Computer Science Department, a member of the Board of Advisors of Advance IT, a Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Center of Excellence and a member of the Board of Net Impact Minneapolis.
Ron graduated from the University of St. Thomas and has a Master’s Degree in Medical Technology Management. Ron lives in Edina Minnesota and enjoys sailing on Lake Superior; fly fishing, golf, collecting rare Audubon prints and spending time with his family.
