Assistant United States Attorney
Timothy Rank is the Deputy Criminal Chief in Charge of the Fraud and Public Corruption Section of the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota. He joined the United States Attorney’s Office in 2004, and has prosecuted cases involving complex financial fraud, public corruption, and cybercrime. He is also a Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Coordinator for the Minnesota US Attorney’s Office and a National Security Cyber Specialist with the United States Department of Justice.
AUSA Rank is a 1989 graduate of the University of Minnesota, and a 1993 graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School. From 1994 to 1998, he worked as a litigation associate for the Minneapolis law firm of Faegre & Benson. From 1998 to 2004, AUSA Rank worked in the Criminal Division of the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, where he prosecuted homicide, major narcotics offenses, and Internet crimes against children in counties throughout the state of Minnesota.
