Principal Advisor, Cybersecurity SLED

Mr. Van Guilder is a seasoned technical leader with over 25 years of experience in the industry. As a Principal Advisor at World Wide Technology (WWT) for State & Local Government and Education (SLED), Mr. Van Guilder is responsible for WWT’s Cyber Security strategy for SLED. In this role he spends much of his time consulting with Sr. Technical and Business Leaders in the SLED Market to help identify and deliver cyber solutions that serve the needs of these customers.
In support of the Public Sector market, Mr. Van Guilder has served on multiple technical advisory councils focused on helping various OEMS improve the impact they have on serving our government. He is passionate about making mission impact through the effective use of secure technology.
Before joining WWT, Mr. Van Guilder spent 4 years at Symantec leading the Department of Defense (DoD) Engineering Team and consulting with customers to align Symantec’s solutions to serve the DoD’s Mission. Prior to that he spent 3 Years with Red River, a Federal Technical Integrator, and 14 years with Cisco Systems. In those roles he led worldwide teams and developed mission impacting IT solutions focusing on the Department of Defense, Federal Healthcare, and Service Provider markets. Early in his career, Mr. Van Guilder served as a telecommunications professional and network engineer at SUPERVALU, NordicTrack and Minnesota Power.
Mr. Van Guilder graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Computer Engineering Degree, holds an MBA from the University of St. Thomas, and maintains his Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of Minnesota for electrical engineering.
He was born and raised in MN and currently lives in the Twin Cities area with his wife and 3 boys.
