This award recognizes a security practitioner or team that demonstrates innovation and outstanding oversight of GRC areas, such as risk assessments, policies and standards, vendor oversight, and maintaining compliance. Award nominations will be considered from security practitioners.

Matt Vatter currently serves as the Operations Executive for Accelerate2Compliance where he helps businesses develop policies, programs and training needed to meet information security compliance requirements. Before joining A2C, Matt served as the Assistant Commissioner for Enforcement with the Minnesota Department of Commerce. Matt retired from the Minnesota National Guard in 2018 where in his responsibilities as the Director of Strategic Plans and Policy he helped to develop cybersecurity programs for the country of Croatia. Matt has a Bachelor of Science in secondary education, a masters of science in strategic studies and a masters of science in security technologies. He currently serves on the advisory board of the Technological Leadership Institute, University of Minnesota.
